I feel like they were never good friends/besties. Maddie used to talk to Cassie crazyyyy, Maddie was like the leader of their duo but, Cassie was more male centered but they were already growing apart from each other. Over the seasons you could see this and Maddie would be more with Kat. Cassie was still wrong for messing with Nate but, she loved every body who gave her attention.
