@compostfairy: muddy worm bin remedies 🪱 When a worm bin gets muddy like this it’s a sign of too much moisture in the bin. Often catapulted by overfeeding or excess watering. Mixing in browns like cardboard, paper egg cartons, and paper will soak up the excess moisture and give the worms something to munch on in the mean time. Taking the top of really seals the deal cuz it airs out the bin and lets the water evaporate. And since the worms don’t like light and dry out when heavily exposed, they don’t crawl out. So don’t worry you won’t have a mass exodus of worms with the top off 😄 I plan to keep the top off for a few weeks so I’ll update y’all on the progress 😊 Have you ever had a muddy worm bin?
