@ealafie: There is nothing wrong with being normal. Stop letting people on TikTok teach you how to act rich or classy. These are dog whistles that are trying to make every day normal people feel like they are a part of an outgroup.
Exactly. I think the reason why is because once anyone in a marginalized class gains some form of power that's regarded highly in our society (money, influence, etc.) and they see themselves as a part of that idealized in-group, they start regurgitating the same oppressive language and behaviors. I'm not an expert, but prob some form of projection? Like a roundabout way of telling ppl "I suffered, so you should too."
