🚀 DHCP Configuration Lab in Cisco Packet Tracer In this project, I configured a router as a DHCP server to automatically assign IP addresses to devices on the network. 🔧 Devices Used: ✔️ 1 Router ✔️ 1 Cisco 2960 Switch ✔️ 3 PCs ⚙️ Configurations Performed: 📌 Configured the router interface with an IP address 📌 Created a DHCP pool 📌 Defined the network and default gateway 📌 Connected all PCs to the switch 📌 Set PCs to obtain IP addresses automatically 📌 Verified IP assignment using DHCP 📌 Tested connectivity between devices using ping 📚 What We Learned: DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) automatically assigns IP addresses to devices joining a network. Without DHCP, every device would need to be configured manually. As networks grow, this becomes difficult to manage. DHCP simplifies network administration by automatically providing: 🔹 IP Address 🔹 Subnet Mask 🔹 Default Gateway ✅ All PCs received IP addresses automatically. ✅ Devices successfully communicated with each other. ✅ The router acted as both the gateway and DHCP server. This is a fundamental networking concept and an essential skill for anyone starting their CCNA journey.
