That's nothing, back in '77 in the So. China Sea, I watched an aircraft carrier become a submarine when a HUGH rouge wave completely swallowed a carrier. When it came up there were sailors swimming on the hanger deck.

I was on a Nuclear Fast Attack submarine. Destroyers were just submarines in disguise. when we were in rough waters....we just dove deeper

My dad (WWll navy)told me he was on a ship in a typhoon & when the screws would come out of the water the whole ship would shake violently. He said it was the most terrifying thing he experienced in life! He was a firefighter later in life & experienced a lot of close calls throughout his career! Was given the last rights at one point!

Dude, I'm a Destroyer Sailor. 4 of them plus 2 cruisers. That's nothing, and been out on deck in much worse than that.

TR's 93 MED Cruise, we cross the pond in the 93 Storm of the Century. USS Arleigh Burke took on 17' swells & 50 knots winds.

A buddy of mine was a quartermaster on a destroyer. He said there a few times they would dip into a wave and all they could see was green out the portholes for a good 10 seconds.
