@omoanimashaun1: There are two photographs (Slide 1 and 3) currently making the rounds framed around the claim that in 2014, President Muhammadu Buhari, as candidate of the APC led President Tinubu, John Oyegun, Rotimi Amaechi and others to the U.S. to submit a petition against President Goodluck Jonathan to Mr John Kerry, then American Secretary of State. Some have even claimed that it is the petition that the American government is working on now. They say it is karma at work. But this is a LIE. An outrageous lie. I had thought though that this lie is only for social media. Shocked to see Journalists on TV this morning repeating the same lie. The fact is this - the photograph is from a visit by Secretary Kerry's to Nigeria in January 2015. On that visit, Kerry met with President Goodluck Jonathan and separately with the then candidate Muhammadu Buhari, who attended the meeting along with the APC party leaders, as seen in the photograph. A report of that meeting is found in Slide 2. The photograph in Slide 3 has also been making the rounds, touted as that of Muhammadu Buhari and APC leaders visiting President Obama in 2014 to solicit for support against President Jonathan. Again, this is a lie. This photograph is that of an already elected President Buhari to President Barack Obama in the White House in July, 2015. A report on that meeting is found in Slide 4.
