This year I asked a dealership for the out the door price of a truck, cut the check for the truck, flew across 7 states to get the truck, and got there and it was 10,000 more than what we had talked about in email…. That will forever be a chip on my shoulder lol.

Can anyone tell me what a salesman provides at the dealer that can't be found online? Be honest there's no value to the customer. Even if commissions aren't alot its $ out of the customers pocket for nothing.

I just bought a new car for my wife. I already knew the range of trade in value, told them a number I wanted within the value, and already new the manufacturers promos (BMW gives you $3k for being a veteran off MSRP). Salesman helped us find the right vehicle, double checked my numbers on trade in, and got us a great vehicle. He spent more time showing/teaching features than he did selling. Very smooth process.

You don’t need to lie and cheat to sell a car the whole point is to give you the information and and knowledge that helps you make an educated and confident decision about what you are looking to purchase i’m not going to force you into a vehicle i’m going to see if there’s anyway to earn business but I can’t push and force😂

Ppl should do their research before they step foot on a lot but also Salesmen make money. It’s just that the finance manager makes even more. They make money on the origination fee, and the backend products.
