@elliewfrazier: unfortunately, the 50 / 20 / 30 rule doesn’t work well for a lot of people these days when budgeting. here’s how I’d budget a 65k salary living in Greenville, SC (relatively low cost of living!). These are pretty accurate numbers for our monthly spending, but let me know if this is helpful! 💌 #Budgeting #costofliving #savingmoney #debtpayoff #budgetingtips
Where are you living in Greenville for that cheap? It’s one of the most expensive places to live in SC.

Hey— want to make sure you applied for your 4% primary resident tax, because SC automatically applies 6% at closing. If it's your primary residence, you shouldn't be paying more than 4%. They are very sneaky in this state

I’m confused. You bring home over 5k with 65k salary? I bring home the same and make over 20k more 🤔 in SC. There’s no way this accurate lol…

what about federal tax? I make 80k and barely take more than this home monthly with way less of a 401k contribution.

No car payment, gas or car insurance? I would love to hear more about the high yield savings account. I’ve heard things but I struggle with it just being an online bank option for the best rates.

$609 for taxes for the whole month? That’s not accurate. It should be way more

Federal taxes? I live in SC and taxes are roughly 30-50% depending on income level. Filing taxes as single, not claiming yourself as a dependent with an 80k salary you bring home approximately $2,100 after taxes, maxing out your 401k, HSA, Roth IRA with an employer match. So at $80k salary $65k isnt bringing home more…
