I don’t disagree, but I also believe that separating ourselves from those whose decisions affect us in harmful ways is healthy within that distinction. I find I gravitate toward solitude as I have never enjoyed the transactional nature of most people. Doesn’t make me feel righteous. It makes me feel peaceful.

This has been the day to see this clip because I’ve encountered at least two different areas of my life in the past couple of days, alone, that are just not working out.. and they’ve both had me kind of stifling myself so that I would fit in with them ….and it’s making me incredibly unhappy. So I love that it goes back to realizing that I abandoned myself to fit in… when I really don’t need to! 😊

I’ve never really had more than one or two relatively close friends. I’ve lived alone my entire life, struggled, feeling connected with the people I dated as everything felt very surface level with people never being curious about who I was, and I never felt like I belonged anywhere I lived in the US. Fitting in never worked for me because I always felt strange bending into something not authentic to me. I just cant do it.
