Replying to @biddate 💔😭 SHE HAS PAIN AND TRAUMA AND GETS PANICK ATTACKS FROM HER PAST THAT WORDS CANT EXPLAIN. SHE THOUGHT HER SAFE PLACE HAD LEFT HER FOREVER… Our traumatised girl has been carrying so much pain from her past, and sometimes that pain comes out in ways that break our hearts. When her favourite mahout walked away, she became frightened and distressed. But the moment he returned, she could no longer hold back her emotions. She came running towards him, crying, desperately seeking the comfort of the one person she feels safest with. 💔🐘 Imagine being so traumatised by your past that even a moment of separation from the person you trust most fills you with fear. Her panic is not simply about someone walking away. It may be the fear of losing the only safe place she believes she has. After everything she has endured, learning to trust again is a journey that requires patience, understanding and unconditional love. But there is something beautiful in these tears, too. ❤️ She has found someone she feels safe enough to run towards. One of our mahouts has become a source of comfort for her, and we are grateful that this special bond is growing. We will build on this trust, helping her gradually feel secure, even when he is not right beside her. With gentle care, consistency, time and rehabilitation, we hope to reduce her panic attacks and help her discover that she no longer has to live in constant fear. We cannot erase everything that happened to her, and healing will not happen overnight. But we can give her new experiences, filled with kindness instead of fear, reassurance instead of panic, and love instead of suffering. One day at a time, we want her to learn that she is safe here, that the people who care for her will treat her gently, and that she does not have to face her fears alone. 🥹❤️ At Laos Giants, rescue is only the beginning. Helping an elephant heal emotionally is just as important as caring for her physical needs. Every frightened cry deserves patience. Every step towards trust deserves celebration. And every elephant deserves the chance to feel safe again. Please support our work so we can continue giving traumatised elephants the time, care and rehabilitation they need to heal. Your kindness helps us give them more than freedom from suffering it gives them a chance to discover peace. 🐘❤️🙏
