so what do we do? I was literally given a warning last week because my manager refuses to do anything to help me so I went above him. He saw it as disrespect, threw a fit, and had me written up.

This cannot be overstated, I have heard executives have these conversations. They know, and it’s 100% intentional. It’s also a convenient way to lay people off without worrying about severance etc.

Yea I don’t play this ish and they hate it. I was denied a promotion to be their project manager, but they had the audacity to try to delegate PROJECT MANAGEMENT duties to me weeks later. 🙄 They refuse to hire a new manager and project manager and there’s a cowoker who’s such a kiss ssa she takes on the added responsibilities without a promotion and our sr leadership tries to manipulate everyone in to doing the same. I work in higher ed in a male dominated STEM dept. I’ve repeatedly shared concerns about disrespect, raised voices, interruptions, and inappropriate comments about my appearance. I’ve been told I need to be “more resilient” and that I should go into meetings with my “elbows up.”

The way this hit the nail on the head is bazaar. My company increased its minimum expectations for the 3rd time this year. We were already at the breaking point. But they said let’s give them more work! The if you fail to hit mins you get punished and given more work. Make it make sense.
