Man, all these negative comments! The man is a damn good mechanic and does it the right way! 20 years in this industry, some of these comments are straight out sickening! Dave, thank you for educating the rest

I can’t believe resurfacing the heads wasn’t included already or at least discussed as a potential extra expense. Every time a head gasket is replaced, the heads are always checked for warping. Secondly the possibility of contamination from the coolant leaking into the oil that could destroy the engine. I think the customer needed to know the possibilities here, beforehand.

Seems like companies would build several proven engines and stop.

if you can't pull the heads on an engine while in the truck...NOT INTERESTED !

So if you have one side of that V6 mill down, doesn’t the compression on that side of the engine go up which throws the entire engine out of balance?

And it will happen again in 60 to 80 thousand so it’s almost not worth the expense

Not sure the block is that warped. The straight edge was sat on top of old gasket material and crud, not on the bare deck.

Is there not a chance to get a better head gasket with three layers?

another reason to buy an older truck. You use to be able to change a head gasket yourself over the weekend, now it's a month job if you're doing it yourself.

Do they make a 3 or 4 layer gasket like Subaru? Aftermarket?

You don't know until you get inside of an engine to find out why the head gasket blew out.
