I purchased a new vicks vaporub and before I tossed the expired one away, I smelled it and the old vicks was 10 times stronger than the new VICKS. 🤔

Wrong. The expiration date is only a legal statement. Meaning that a drug maker may not be held responsible for defective medication after that date.

We had a bottle of generic acetaminophen (Tylenol) that expired in 1997. In 2024 I had back surgery. I found the old expired generic ones helped control pain the same as my wife's just purchased Tylenol.

What about Ozempic, my husband was prescribed last year and never used it and mow he needs it. Expiration date still good for another 2 years. It was never refrigerated

There is still efficacy, the problem is stability. Creams and liquids can be easily contaminated. Solid forms are usually good until you start to see changes in pill structure.

I still have muscle relaxers from Mexico that expired in 2012. Occasionally I take some when my neck or back gets tweaked because doctors today just make it a huge hassle to get anything and that’s after the $30 visit copay and deductible
