Consider a charles Schwab debit card for ATM withdrawals abroad. No foreign transaction fees and they reimburse each month for all ATM fee charges. Yup, The banks def charge higher fees to buy, best to do a withdrawal upon arrival.

I do a little bit at my bank & the rest there cause sometimes you get a good underground rate. But yes bank at home is goated.

I order my currency from Bank of America through their App. The only time this didn’t work was going to Tanzania where BOA didn’t have their currency 😭
