Gen z also pays 90k a year and boomers payed 34k (in today’s dollars) for college. Most are in debt and overall inflation are worse. Can’t argue for the work ethic but can you argue with wanting more pay?

Sounds wild for me to complain but I only make $32.88 an hour which is $68,000 a year, not bad but in WA state you need to make 100k+ to live comfortably, gas is also $4.70 a gal. My rent is also $1800 a month. The job i just took a drug test for, is starting me off at $41 an hour. Best believe my current job isnt getting a 2 week notice.

a 10% annual raise would be an actual raise because it would compensate for cost of living raises. cost of living went up 7%(?) this year, so yeah, it's still a 3% raise.

It’s not that we don’t wanna work our way up or refuse to work the way boomers did back in the day. It’s just twice as hard for us to be ahead even when lots of us don’t even pay rent yet… yet alone probably won’t even be able to afford a home in 10 or so years and that’s because inflation and prices of everything are tripled since the boomers were working when they were our age. now at our young adult/ teen ages as a gen z’ers our day rate pays are minimum wage which is typically $15/hr to $20/hr which still barely gets most average gen z workers into financial freedom. We are not refusing to work we are fed up with what the boomers created for us to work through.

Let’s start here elder millennial. There is no pension anymore turn into a 401k, stock options laughable, the greatest wealth hoarding in history by the boomers. No top growth potential since well the boomer are still in those positions. Gaslighting an entire generation with stuff we didn’t ask for.
