Ritalin may "work" while they're on it however the "coming down" side effects are horrendous! My 8yr old only stays focused for a short time (school hours) however once home, he turns into the INCREDIBLE HULK!

This has been the way in Australia for many many years. Finding a pead that explains this and well is the key. I have fired too many peads over the years. Having my own education and understand has helped. This is not new.

I mean it wouldn't be bad for my daughter who is excessive in her growth. she's been way about the growth curve, well over the 99% and has been since 3 months old and was in size 12 at 6 years old.

This is just fear mongering. They suppress appetite and can cause a disrupt in sleep if dosed indirectly. Of course bad sleep and malnutrition could cause these.
