A 90 degree wash with cleaner or dishwasher tabs would be way better than 40 and washing towels and bedding on 60/90 degrees will keep the machine In good form

Also try pouring boiling water into the drawer as it’ll flush down the pipe and get rid of build up that can cause the smell as that part only gets cold water… maybe needs a couple
