We know that peace does not benefit everyone, yet it remains the desire of the majority. And if we stand here today, it is not to highlight any individual, but to rekindle within this divided majority the living memory of what a land of freedom, equality, and fraternity can truly be. Our words are not meant to inspire trust in a single person. They invite each of us to recognize that we are collectively the bearers of a peace that will be built in a united country, in a loving country, and, despite everything, in a strong nation that does not waver in the face of economic or military threats.
