@withemilyvictoria: As of 10/30, the new EU Entry/Exit System in the Frankfurt airport isn’t up and running. I still went through normal immigration with getting your passport stamped by a border official. The machines are all over the place with signs for pre-registration, but all machines are closed and date of it starting is unknown. Full implementation is expected across the EU by April 10, 2026. Once it is up and running, travelers will have to register their biometric data, including fingerprints and a facial image, at border crossings, typically using these automated self-service kiosks.
