It blows my mind that people are throwing sourdough starter away. If you don't want to bake every day just keep your starter in the fridge. The food waste involved in sourdough culture now is kind of shocking.

I basically saturate it with water until it’s all liquefied. It’s just flour and water. Dilute heavily and it will be fine…

Biggest sourdough myth ever created. I mean sure if you just dumped a whole loaf worth, down the drain and let it sit for a day or so, but the little bit left in your bowl or starter jar will NEVER EVER in a bazillion years clog your pipes.

I simply let the jars soak a bit and then toss it in the dirt after using a scraper to scrap the sides. no extra material to throw away.

I told my husband to leave my jars that I would take care of cleaning them…last night, there were cleaned up and in the dishwasher..he said I cleaned them really well in the sink first…I was like…ummm…😳🫣😬
