the sequential part is not what I'm confused about, it's that neutral is between 1 and 2. I've learned to use it and I don't really think about it anymore but it is a little strange

as someone who rode a motorcycle before learning how to drive a car i always got confused as to why cars don't use sequential shifting, it's way easier and straightforward imo.

And you can shift w/o using the clutch on a dirt bike

And since bikes are high compression engines you get alot of engine braking, helping to reduce speed when you down shift.

Try having your first bike that was geared for racing, the shifting was in reverse. When I went to a normal bike, it took some getting used to.

Neutral could be between 2nd and 3rd or between 3rd and 4th, but the easiest way to know how to find it is between 1st and 2nd gear

Also it is really terrifying to ride a bike with a hand operated gear stick the one I rode was a (1944 Royal Enfield flying flee) and it felt so scetchy because you still operated the clutch with your hand and the throttle but then the gears were also hand operated and I just couldn’t get the hag of it

funny thing is that i don't think this is a sequential beacouse when you put it into first its stays there and in second it does too (it has 2 gears)
