The best teacher I ever had was in fifth grade, and she integrated coloring time while listening to classical music every day. She was known as one of the best teachers at the school, and surprise she prioritized nurturing our creative sides and letting us be children along with our learning

my principal tried the "no coloring" thing w/ me when I was a kinder teacher, so I started including the state standard that basically says "with guidance from an adult can improve on drawing & writing" on every assignment that involved coloring. & then wrote in my lesson plan that I was modeling coloring in the lines which is an improvement on drawing skills. evn wrote an "I can" statement & an evaluation scale & everything else just for that standard. she didnt bother me abt it aftr that.

We will be losing artist because of tech and AI. Kids aren’t even learning proper penmanship or cursive. Im currently teaching my HS student cursive 😔

I agree. Coloring is a waste of time. Leave that in art class. No need to spend time coloring a dog to know the “d” sound.
