Yes, we are regionally distinct, but it’s all American. We know who we are and can easily identify others just like non-Americans can look at all of us and know immediately we are American.

Lifelong MA resident, 15 miles north of Boston. People decked out in sports gear doesn't represent me or anyone I know unless they are actually going to a game. Isn't that a thing with anyone in any city going to a game?

This is interesting- I live in the outskirts of a Midwestern city, I can see distinct differences in how people are dressed based on which direction from home I have driven (and I’m talking about 20-30 minute drives)

This is totally accurate. I’ve spent most of my life in the south, took my honeymoon to California wine country. I did not know the word top-stitching at that time. But at some point, I remember commenting to my husband, not everybody in the restaurant was wearing clothes with visible stitches 😁
