Before anyone takes her advice on the hitchhiking, please remember what survivors bias is. Only people who havent been murdered can talk about how its not so bad.

I was also a houseless traveler in the late 70's and I didn't plan to end it but I found a job working construction and I only wanted to work enough to buy this Volkswagen bus and ended up following a construction circuit and moved 300 miles to the next job and never stopped

Nova, do they still have Catan in the library in Slab City? I'm so addicted and was so happy to see it when I passed through... unfortunately it was summer so the place was pretty deserted

one thing i loved about my step mother, she ALWAYS picked up hitch hikers. always. she said her dad relied on it to get home from work, and she was always scared something would happen. so she wanted to ensure safety that way for others
