Fun fact, before digitized sign boards were a thing, Highway 17 was the only highway in the state to have permanently installed "Accident Ahead" sign. They removed the cover every time it got rainy

Bro it’s not that serious. Drive it back and forth 7 times since Halloween. It’s November 4th today. Literally just did it 30 minutes ago. It’s not that bad just lock in/don’t be distracted.

Hwy 29 from Clearlake to Calistoga was the most horrified I’ve ever been on a road. They put those random ass passing lanes for 300 ft on a 270 degree turn lmaoooooo

not difficult at all but plenty of drivers dont know how to safely drive up or down mountain roads. too many people treat it like a regular freeway when it is a mountain road that needs you to lock in so you dont cause traffic especially in the rain

lol, this drive is beautiful. There is nothing scary about it at all. The trees, the hills, the views. Absolutley gorgeous drive. If you get scared driving over 17, you have no business driving a car at all.

My biggest complaint is the drivers who can’t maintain their lane and think they are good drivers. If you can’t stay in your lane around the curves you are going too fast. Those are the ppl causing the problems on 17

it’s not scary at all. The traffic sucks going over the hill in the afternoon or on a sunny day when people think Santa Cruz will be nice. But it’s not scary. Nauseating at worst.
