I had HS removal on my left under arm. Healing and healing time was ruff. my stitches wouldn't take so they had to reopen the surgery site and i had to heal with it wide open with packing and dressing changes twice a day. Took 4 months for the insicion to start closing on its own. I was in remission for 3 years in that arm and then it came back. im stage 3. I really hope this helps you. ❤️

My #1 tip with HS surgery is to NOT get both armpits done at the same time.

I had this in 2001. You’ll get relief for a while but unfortunately it comes back. Just not as bad. Going in for the 2nd surgery soon

I had both underarms done. They left both open to heal. No skin grafts or closures. It took two months to totally close. I was flare free for seven years then it appeared under right arm again above the surgery area and in my groin area. HS sucks

I got a skin graft done under both arms but it was a 2 part process and it only took 1-2 months to heal and I love it currently getting ready to get my groin done next year sometime but it won’t be a skin graft so it’ll take longer but kinda nervous to get that area done but it gives me so much pain but I’d rather deal with the pain from healing than anyyhing

Had mine back in 2019. Both arms done at the same time. Left open to heal. Healing took quite a little while to heal. But it’s 2025 I just have the scars and have not had a flare up. Another pro, I haven’t had to buy or use deodorant since the surgery

I had a removal 2 weeks ago Wednesday. What was supposed to be a small incision ended up being a rather large one in a real sensitive spot but I am healing good. They really knocked me out which helped me sleep for the first 3 days . Stillness is key. Also eating really healthy while recovering helps ❤️

I literally had both of them removed under both armpits 5yrs ago. Now they appearing on my inner thighs. Really considering if i can have surgery for that too
