can you go freestyle on that one? take the presser foot off and switch off the feed dogs. I found a video on YouTube for my old Kenmore machine for how to and it's pretty fun, maybe not practical for all applications.

Something that may help with the lifting the presser foot would be if you can use a free quilting foot and lowering your feed dogs 😊

Glue another paper clip infront (in line) with the presser foot. That way you got the first paper clip for tension and the second for guidance

For you next machine look into hands free presser foot. It has a knee lever you use to raise and lower your foot. All my BERNINAs have it but there are other machines that do it too. Check goodwill for vintage machines they work the best for me!

If you ever upgrade get a machine that has a knee lift. You just push it with you leg and it raises the foot. Game changer.

Maybe a free motion foot, then you wouldn’t have to pick up the presser foot. I’ve only used mine once, but it was fun.

what if you get iron on adhesive and lay the yarn the way you want and then iron it where you want, you can get different weights and sew on top still if you want!
