I made it 20 mins into the dying rooms so this for me is a definite no. I hate that this goes on.

This documentary literally made me rethink everything and deconstruct what I believed about god , justice, morality and even economics. I haven’t been the same since watching it.

actually, the United States was a lot like this 60 to 80 years ago. Doctors told parents that had children with disabilities to immediately put them in these homes and that they wouldn’t live for very long so there was no need for them to try to visit them or anything. So the parents did what they thought was the right thing and similar conditions ended up occurring.

A pretty old update; the kids you all mentioned got rehomed very quickly after the documentary dropped. The girl with the broken leg (Vaski) is in a specialized nursing centre with a personal nurse, the autistic girl (Didi) went to a special needs boarding school. The boys who got hit (Milan and Mischo) live in a small specialized group home for special needs. They did an update and the kids were all very happy, but traumatized by Mogilino. The world was so shocked by the documentary, that the EU put so much pressure on Bulgaria; they had to shut down Mogilino Institution in 2009.

I once watched a documentary on nursing homes in Bulgaria… same deal but they chain them to the beds at night so they don’t wander off because most of them have dementia and the ppl are tired of collecting them

Didi the midly autistic girl was moved to a better home, with school and friends, recently (2019) someone said she was moved in a elderly residential home and has been severely declining again… I hope she’s okay
