I hate when there is no one sitting in the area where I’m sitting and the bin is filled by people sitting in the back. I usually board earlier and somehow “my bin” is sometimes filled but no one sitting there. I know it’s not mine but it’s frustrating.

imo people who put backpacks, coats and purses in the overhead bin before everyone has a chance to store their rollerboards are selfish and entitled.

I always check my bag if they ask at the gate. Makes it easier and I don’t have to pay unless I am in first class.

Thank you for this explanation, I am not exactly a frequent flyer, but I do know the protocol of the bins. But it’s clear many people do not, lol. Maybe airlines should play this video prior to boarding so everyone knows what to do!

My favorite announcement when I’m flying carryon only is “we have a full flight and limited overhead space. Would anyone be willing to gate check their bag for free?” I’m always willing.

I carry a large purse or a backpack and put it under my seat I hate the carry-on baggage thing and someone always trying to cram that bag when it’s clear it’s not going to fit, but they keep trying and the people trying to sneak on more than their two items and the people with children who don’t check anything because even though those two bags you know, we’re not the kids they let the kids take on their two bags so you’ve got the whole family with 10 pieces of luggage. Sorry that is the carry-on luggage as a pet peeve for me.

I would always check a bag if airlines didn’t charge extra for it. I know that’s not your call, but it seems everything would go smoother and faster if we could all just check our bags.

Ty was wondering how that worked. I had a lady in Premium select tell me to move my bag in PS so she could put hers above her. I didn’t want any trouble so I ended up having to put mine 2 rows behind me in Premium select. 😮
