If the teen took part of the money, why wouldn't he just take all of it? Are we even really sure that the amount he claims was taken was the amount originally in the wallet? There's really no feasible way to know the answer to those questions without solid proof. But if you take human nature into account, if someone is willing to take a couple thousand, they, in all likelihood, wouldn't have a problem with taking all of it and tossing the wallet, because most people wouldn't want to risk being blamed for any money that is missing. Also, without placing blame, why in the world would you walk around with that amount of money on your person? For all we know, he went to the bank to make the withdrawal and the teller made the error. Or possibly when he placed it in his wallet, it didn't all make it in there. I mean if he's careless enough to walk around with that much money and then lose all of it, it's quite feasible that any of those scenarios could have happened.

Beyond fair, I found a wallet with a stack of 100’s. I went to he college office and showed the lady I.D. went to her class to hand it to her. She snatched it and said it all of it better be in there. Her friends told her that lady better than me you wouldn’t have gotten anything if I found it.

Is moment of honesty, what the copy cat people of the world are trying do turn to, one your going miss this kind of kindness, and of course the money will be gong in this case, but the important stuff will be there, maybe the only picture of my mother and father.
