I had this problem , I took it in to Apple today the unscrewed the back, unplugged the battery and then put it back in and was working fine like normal

You need a charger that can deliver the watts the laptop needs which is usually 45. The laptop will pull only what it needs and th charging brick also has to be able to even deliver that much to the charger!!!!!!
