Lower the resistance every 5 reps on assisted pull-ups, yet there are 6 reps per set. I’m confused as a beginner at calisthenics

Can’t stress the assisted pull-ups enough. Game changer for me. I’m 50. 2 years ago I couldn’t do 1. Trained with bands. Just hit a PR of 17 unassisted body weight pull-ups!! You can do it too!
