happened to me twice 🙏. once when all the spider-man movies came out for an anniversary (it was homecoming) and the other for the anniversary of jaws

for me, the people around are what makes this ritual better. after a joke you all laugh, when something scary comes up you see someone twitching, sometimes people collectively cry. you hear popcorn, whispers, the “ooh” and “aah!”. I really do love it
