This pattern mostly follows my chunky beanie tutorial. • cast on 50 stitches on 8mm needles (using a chunky yarn that suggests 6-8mm on the label) • join in the round, and place your stitch marker • Work 5 rounds of 1x1 rib in your first colour • Work 5 rounds of 1x1 rib in your second colour • the ribbed brim is done • Now using knit stitch only, work 32 rounds. Change colours every 5 rounds. • you have now completed the body • now we work decreases • row 1 of decreases: SKP, knit, knit, repeat until one stitch left. Knit one stitch. • row 2 of decreases: SKP, knit, repeat until one stitch left. Knit one stitch. • row 3 of decreases: SKP, repeat until one stitch left. Knit one stitch. Using a tapestry needle cut a long tail on your yarn and thread it through the needle. Now using the needle thread the yarn through each live stitch and pull tight to finish and close the hole.
