Kids don’t remember the trends each year, they remember pulling out the same decorations year after year and that’s what creates the nostalgia. My favorite decorations are the ones I got from my parents from my childhood, not the new ones I’ve bought as an adult.

I buy up to $200 worth of new decor each year and its a mix of shein and my local shops... started off with one box of stuff i now have three and no set colors... we do favourites! I love gingerbread stuff and tartan and the kids usually pick out a few things too (ive put some notes in my phone on who has chosen what so when they move out and start their own trees i can give it to them)

Packs of scrap ribbon at hobby lobby are super cheap. It’s the end of rolls that didn’t sell, you get a big variety cheap and it can add pops or color to your decor easily! Here is my tree with just scrap ribbon!
