@jess.ves2: Having spent the majority of my childhood in foster care, and only having a trash bag to carry my things in when transitioning from one unfamiliar place to the next, the work that @Comfort Cases resonated with me on a spiritual level. I reached out to them last year to see how I could help and have since made a small impact within this vulnerable community of children who mean the absolute world to me. They graciously gave me an award for simply doing what I felt called to do, which is be a voice to these sweet babies who don't have one. Comfort cases provides a brand new bag for a foster child to carry their belongings in when entering their new foster home. On any given day, there are more than 368,000 children in foster care in the United States. Most of them are removed from their homes with little more than the clothes on their backs. If they do have any personal belongings, they are given a trash bag in which to carry them. One of these bags brings confidence, hope, and dignity to an already very stressful and scary situation for a foster child.
