i am 100% in favor of SNAP. i needed WIC whe my first child was born. The problem i have is the people who lie about the money they have and take advantage. when their balance is 2k and they are decked out in expensive clothing and buying $300 cakes for themselves. I only feel it needs to be regulated better like wic, but never ever taken away. I’m happy to help those who really need it even though i am living paycheck to paycheck myself. And yes, i’ve seen these examples in my day to day life due to my line of work. i know you are speaking more towards the extremists but i just wanted to put that out there because those who take advantage are hurting those who need it. When my father in law had a stroke and my MIL became his FT caretaker they got $23 in food stamps when neither of them could work. Then it got taken away, so my point is there are situations in everyone’s lives that make them feel differently. Every single one of our lives has a background, i disagree with the extremists but again, it needs to be regulated.

Definitely dont lack empathy as ive sat for hrs in a access building trying to feed my kids meanwhile I kept getting denied but watched people with real coach bags and escalades lying to relieve benefits. all the systems need to be cut all taxes need to be ended and a better system needs to be founded preferably one where people grow their own food again. I keep seeing social construct but the real social construct us people being told they need the government to live when the reality is that the government needs us to be enslaved. taxation is the wealthy stealing from the poor.

I have no problem paying for it to help the people that need it. At one point my mom was on WIC, worked 2 jobs and put herself through school. Changing the requirements to qualify was a smart move to weed out the people abusing it. I myself, am just exhausted of listening to the scammers get online and complain about having to “get a job” and “who’s gonna feed my kids?”. I think that’s where the lack of sympathy comes from. The loud minority will always drown out the quiet majority.

Everyone against it, 100% knows someone on it who they probably call “family”. They want to ban certain things, but then not help programs in place to HELP THE CHILDREN (and moms, + elderly, disabled, etc) I think more eyes are opening and I’m happy to see the neighbors and food pantries but it’s not normal to hate helping humans…EAT????
