When my husband started on his journey, we went to an oncologist in the next town over that the urologist said we needed to go to. He walked in did not introduce himself. Said we needed to get in right away for radiation, we said wait what? Well what is our timeline he told us you will be lucky to make it 6 months. What??! We said we need a second opinion. We tried other Drs in the area and they told us no we can’t see you. Called MDA they got us in. That was 2 years ago.

What do you do when communication isn’t great and you’ve gotten a second opinion? And we’re told “you can always go to where you got your second opinion” for your treatment because the communication on even if your oncologist has read ct scan from second opinion doctor.

I got a second opinion after meeting the oncologist I was initially given. They weren't great and I ended up choosing my second opinion Dr and switched surgeon too. very happy with that choice but the center is double the distance from where we live. we're very rural. they've done so much to stack apts for me to avoid extra trips. very happy with the Drs and nurses and schedulers and everyone I've worked with there.

I didn't feel comfortable with my 1st onocologist. He couldn't even look at me when discussing my care. I ask for another onocologist and now I feel secure with him and my new plan of care! So glad I spoke I ask.

I regret not getting second opinion. I was rushed to do everything mom still crying. I'm on remission of apl leukemia. Those ppl hel me hostage and was rude. Now I have lost 99%of my egg reserve because of their protocol. I was rushed to that hospital from where I took myself.i know I'm on remission now bt I was not happy through out the treatments
