grief is so weird, like I obviously know my dads been gone for 5 years but I sometimes catch myself thinking "I haven't talked to my dad in a while" then I remember, or sometimes we're at a family party and I think I wonder what time my dad is gonna show up

A year or two after my dad passed, my uncle (my moms brother) called me to wish me a happy birthday and I couldn’t even continue the call. I felt so rude but I just couldn’t and I passed the phone to my mom. It’s been 12 years since my dad passed and yes like someone commented, we don’t recover we just learn to keep on keeping on.

Understand 100%, lost my dad 2/2018 got a call in the office at work, exact voice. Couldn’t stop crying while I was on the phone with a complete stranger. I am sure he could hear me all chocking up. My voice cracking.
