@shanicecara: please please please advocate for yourself and ask for them scans!! #cancerreoccurence #stage4breastcancerfighter #fyp #cancerscans #cancerprogression
What! They’re usually do a PET scan after treatment has finished, not an entire year later.

Hello. I have been following your journey for a while now, it’s amazing how positive you remain knowing the end outcome. It seems madness that they assume that after the treatment finishes that they don’t need to scan again for 12 months, my question is, if you are able to answer it is do you think the outcomes could have re different if they had identified that the cancer wasn’t gone.

I’ve had to beg for a scan after finishing 4 rounds of chemo. My hospital is the same as yours a scan is given one year from surgery. It doesn’t make sense. Anyway I’ve finished treatment today and I’ve got a scan in 3 weeks. You have to fight for it x

Can I ask you if it is possible in your country to have these scans done for money? In my country it takes a long time to get a scan reimbursed by the insurance company. So we prefer to pay them and we can schedule an appointment after a maximum of 2 days.

I was clear for 11 months and my mri in june was clear so they said I would move to 6 month scan. Found out last week it’s back on a lymph node after I complained for 10 weeks something felt wrong. Had a stent fitted as the tumor is pressing on my ureter. Now waiting if royal marsden will remove the lymph node of if I need chemo cocktail. If I had waited till Jan I dread to think how much worse things may of been
