Hi, i have Autism and apraxia, I never spoke much as a child, i do now but cant pronounce some words specially hard or long words, its hard cuz the word is in my head but something blocks me saying it. I hope this helps x

What I’ve learnt now as a Sen mum is how individual they all are. I’m not an expert but Keegan seem to have exploded with his words lately. Adding extra diagnosis can sometimes be a good thing because they get more help. But stats are very hard to go by because so many ASD with apraxia never have it acknowledged because they would just put it down to the autism. I just think when a toddler is learning to speak they do the same with pronunciation and missing letter so surely it’s part of just practicing to make perfect with kids that learn to speak later too? I don’t know interesting one wonder if we will start hearing more on apraxia soon?

My eldest was diagnosed with verbal dyspraxia at 6, then diagnosed with asd at 11. He is now verbal but often misses the beginning of a word. X

I have a Yorkshire accent. My husband is Canadian. My kids were born in Canada. Until they started school they missed pronounced words because they used words and how I pronounced them. Maybe he’s learning the American accent
