1: you can change the nature with items, 2: just use as many vitamins as possible in the Pokémon’s preferred attack stat if you care about EV’s (and maybe physical defense)

For ZA ranked? Nah. For actual comp, yeah. Natures don’t really interact with EVs but you want the right nature and IVs too. Vitamins can get you some of the way there but for the most part you just want 252 in the preferred attacking stat and speed and then 4 in hp

natures change 2 stats by 10% up and down.
EVs grant a stat point every 4 EVs.
You can have 252 points max in 1 stat and 512 total.

My friends are horrified that if I play Pokémon I do it entirely on vibes, and pick parties that amuse me.

if a pokemon is a physical attacker, give it the Adamant nature and give it 252 physical attack, but if a pokemon is a special attacker, give it the Modest Nature and give it 252 special attack and the rest of then put the rest in hp, physical defence, special defence and speed, equally of 64 or just place 252 in Speed and 4 in hp

if you just want the mega stones, you dont have to do particularly well to get to those ranks so anything will work

Eevee nature does not matter, you can evolve any Eevee into any of the Eeveelutions

Natures give a 10% buff in one stat and a 10% reduction in another stat (for any stat besides HP). These can easily be changed using the mint items. EVs are stats that pokémon accumulate by getting experience through battling (every species has specific evs it grants when you defeat it) or by using vitamins (10pts) or feathers (1pt). Using vitamins is the faster but more costly way. There is an NPC in the rust syndicate that can reset a pokémon’s EVs. For Z-A ranked, you can still climb without needing to engage with these systems but it definitely helps

Ok, short answer: yes, Natures matter, no, for ZA ranked it’s not as important. Think of Pokémon stats and natures like skill points in most RPGS. You pick what you want your mons to specialize in. Tanky, fast, hard hitting, maybe a mix of 2 to 3? There’s more complex details but that’s the most barebones basics.
