I have a very healthy private pension so I retired at 55 and I fill my days with playing guitar, photography, art and cycling, I love it, no more slaving away for a company that doesn't care about you

I'm 58.If I could retire I'd do it tomorrow but due to an impossible and intolerable existence like many I need to carry on.
Only a Lottery Jackpot win will allow me to retire

I’m 61, won’t get state pension until I’m 67, and yes I have days like that, I’ve lost my passion for working hard and being recognised and climbing the ladder, I’m too old for all that now. Also age has diminished my patience with people, I spend most of my working days biting back the temptation to sarcastically insult ppl 😬

we are all just a number,
no matter how many years of loyal service if you were to leave they will replace you and then you are forgotten about,

Over the last few years work places have been getting harder with managers expecting more from you for less. This is particularly hard for older workers who in the 80s and 90s clocked off on time and took a full lunch break etc. We've noticed the decline more than younger workers who are also suffering, but don't have anything to compare it to. My advice, just concentrate on the task in front of you, take your time and don't think about what you need to do next until it's time to do it. Don't worry about work building up. Let it. Go home on time. Take your full lunch break. Re stroppy emails respond the best you can and of they don't like it, shrug your shoulders and just carry on. It doesn't matter!

I’m thinking of applying to a supermarket on the checkout. Can you imagine having a job where you turn up, do your job and go home without taking all the day’s baggage with you

reassess life and put yourself first and move on and enjoy yourself only suggestion ask work to take a month off and if u have a mortgage take a 3 month holiday if u can and spend the money on yourself 🥰
