To be honest, it’s not the heartbreak, it’s the day to day, it’s living with someone, putting someone’s needs before your own. Understanding what works for you and what doesn’t that only comes with being in a relationship. I’m not saying jump into one, just totally de-prioritizing it does feel risky or short sighted.

Generally agree with everything you said but waiting for perfect seems to be a reason a lot of young folks like us (including myself) aren’t in relationships

it’s funny cuz then there’s also people who marry their high school sweetheart after 10 years of dating and they consider that couple goals. but they also have only had one relationship…🧐

Never had a gf (27) and I’ve had plenty of heartbreak both romantic and platonic. It made me a stronger person with a clearer idea of what I want. Keep going!

I feel like not being in a relationship has taught me more of how to be the right one for the right person.

Too much experience isn't the best answer either. Those people usually think everyone else is the problem and dont see their issues. You will be fine

Only problem, the good guys, few in number, get snapped up in college.

perfect is a bad idea. life isn't perfect, people are perfect, and relationships might be defined by the ability to communicate and negotiate through imperfect.

I’ve never been in a relationship. I worry about a woman learning that, seeing it as a red flag, then no longer remaining interested. I understand on the surface why it’s a red flag, but it’s a fear I have haha

The fact that you have that much experience without even being in a relationship is gonna do wonders when you find your person. Your confidence is truly inspiring 🔥

I definitely have relationships I look back on and it’s “yeah should’ve skipped that” because it would’ve been healthier for me to be single instead of that relationship

Don’t overthink it. Start slow. Get a bf for 5 minutes first (just ask a guy, “do you want to be my bf?” - then break up 5 minutes later, so then you won’t be all hung up over the idea of never having had a bf). Getting the next bf will be easier & less stressful! ✌🏾 You’re welcome 🤎

You learn a lot about yourself when you’re in a relationship but you shouldn’t get into one just for the sake of being in one and you seem to have your priorities straight

have you read Erich Fromm's The Art of Loving? once you get past the weird 50's gender essentialism, I think there's some interesting concepts about love as something to be practiced in there.

Ideally you never have to experience heart break. I agree with you on I’d rather be single forever than date the wrong person
