The entire system is misogynistic. Men like me are trained from a very young age that the “sterotypically feminine” qualities are undesirable, so it doesn’t surprise me to think that women would feel ambivalence about those qualities. Patriarchy harms everyone in different ways.

We live in a free world where people can be who they are inside. If the outside doesn’t match the inside then that’s up to us to change the way we look to match who we are inside. How many people go to the gym to change from being overweight to being a muscle man or woman. Transitioning from male to female or female to male should be seen as no different. You keep doing what makes you happy and if anyone doesn’t like it, that’s their problem that they need to deal with.

Give yourself some grace. Letting go of insecurities that delve from learned norms is a process. We are bombarded with what women are supposed to look like, or act like or just BE, from all fronts. Each of us are perceived as too much or not enough throughout our lives. Be brave and be you.

at age 42 I STILL have to fight my internalized misogyny. I still don't trust my desire to do something that is designated feminine because how can I know for sure that it's what I actually want and not part of my conditioning. Misogyny is so pervasive and insidious and the worst part is that it actually hurts EVERYONE and so many people don't recognize it in society or in themselves. Thank you for speaking on it, all we can do is spread the word as much as possible!! 💖💖💖

Im on a journey with it. I identify as non B, im born female, not wishing to transition but i dont see myself as either gender, I almost feel genderless if that makes any sense. By dictionary def, yes im Trans as I dont identify as the gender i was assigned at birth and to be honest I have always felt kinship and drawn to the Trans community in ways i still cant really process or identify. However I have always resisted calling myself or labling myself as trans as to me it feels almost like im apropriating an experience of others thats not my own. I dont get the levels of hate, fear and violence that our trans siblings experience because others just look at me and just see a woman whos just a tomboy and dresses kind of like a man (Unfortunately i dont pass as androgenous as i would like). HOWEVER a friend of mine who is socially transitioning recently sat me down and explained, yes you are trans and your experience is just as valid as anyone else in this community and its changed me. im still processing it all. im worried i do have internalised transphobia or that i am feeling some form of internalised shame that im not addressing????? IDK

You are probably still mentally transitioning. There is no shame, whatsoever in being who you want to be. Only you can validate your own feelings. It takes time to blend the inner workings of the mind from one gender to the other, give yourself credit for how far you’ve come already. You experience so many pressures from the outside world, stop beating yourself up. Enjoy who you are.🥰😔🥺

How many times in my life did I go full trans. Then bad stuff happen and I felt God is punishing me. Then I stopped and tried “normal” again and the problems stopped, enforcing my belief. It is only when I fully committed that I realised that God had nothing to do with it and it was the world lashing back because I didnt fit the box anymore. Stay beautifull❤❤❤

In 2025, there still isn't a societal sense of gratitude that celebrates free and independent women and femininity. In most cultures, femininity and womanhood are respected and glorified only for social status reasons, sexuality, and motherhood, but never for being free, independent, and pragmatic. Social patriarchy, heteronormative dominance, and male fragility despise independent, free women. Have you noticed the overwhelming difference of the public reaction towards the group of male celebrities who went to space versus when a group of women celebrities did it? I agree, we live in a culture that is misogrnistic and we all suffer from internalized misogyny. Otherwise, you can’t explain how a felon sexual abuser, openly misogrnistic, and best friend of the most infamous USA pedophile, in the last election obtained 53% of the white women's vote, instead of voting for the female candidate with an impeccable reputation. It is a sad realization, and I find it to be extremely depressing.

Also, as time goes on, those feelings ebb and flow, if something outside of gender is on your mind and you're in a more comfortable place with your gender, that other thing is something you can now actually feel.
