As a former member, I have dressed a few dead bodies for Mormon funerals. Do any other religions have similar practices (dressing the body themselves)?

Once I’m dead, guess I won’t care. But guess a funeral will help my family to get closure. I told them to remember that there is no need to get anything fancy or flowers, to use that money and give it to the humane society for stray dogs and cats!

God gives robes of righteousness - not humans. So they are playing God - their services a man stands behind a curtain (the Most Holy place like God) and speaks out loudly without being seen - again like he is god.

At my funeral home, a teenager had passed and the family had us dress him in his everyday clothes, but gave us his temple clothing to put in his casket with him.

In Utah, most (if not all) morticians know how to dress their guests in temple clothes. So families or other church members don’t need to dress the deceased if they don’t want to.
