You should look up the oneills and Rancho mission Viejo used to be larger than tejon from what I heard before they sold 120,000 acres to the government so they could build Camp Pendleton

I saw a huell howser program on PBS, where huell was invited to the tejon ranch for a tour of the ranch and how operations work there from day to day. It was very interesting. That ranch is beautiful and huge. You should watch it on PBS if you get a chance.

That land was meant to be the native territory of Tejon Indians. The bureau of Indian affairs sent out a representative to manage oversee the territory. Instead of allowing the natives to live there as Sanctioned by the BIA, the rep purchased the entire territory and made the natives work for him for cheap labor.
