We never put white bread in our dressing. I never really understood the reason for that. We’ve always just had the cornbread. That’s just what we’ve done not judging anybody that does it differently, but can you just tell me what the reason for white bread is? is it just to extend the dressing or does it really add something to it?

I have seen so many TikTok's for cornbread dressing today! You are the first one that I have seen that puts white bread in it. Just like my grandma's recipe! I'm making my cornbread for my dressing now.😊 Leaving them both on the counter also😂

From the north we had stuffing. My mom and grandma would have sliced bread out everywhere for days before Thanksgiving getting stale. Oddly one of my fondest memories💗.

I make my cornbread and put it in the bowl HOT, and add deboned boiled chicken with the very warm chicken broth. I add eggs, onion, celery, sage, salt and pepper. My dressing is loved by anyone who tries it. It is requested by many.

I do exactly the same thing with my cornbread, but for the white bread I use biscuit mix and put fresh sage in it. But I have problem after I cook it getting it to firm up.

yes it does my grandma use to do that she with her dressing only difference is that when he made cornbread throughout the year whatever was left he would put in the freezer that way she would have it for once you made dressing as you made the best wish you were still here to make it
