This was actually at a gala after the competition. It’s still good sportsmanship, but the competition was already over.

If you want to compete against the best then you help if you want a free win then don’t. So as you see he didn’t want a free win he wanted to earn his gold but instead he got silver because he was there to compete NOT have it handed to him! Cudos to him!! I wouldn’t regret it either

Bc if he had won by default, knowing he could help and didn’t, it wouldn’t have been worth it. H had trained and worked to compete against the best.;if he won it’d be well deserved. Incredible 👏

This is not 100% true. It did happen but it did NOT happen during competition. They had already won their medals. This was a post competition event.
