guys, I’m thinking about building a free website where you can upload a contractor’s quote and get a second opinion — basically, whether the price looks fair and if anything seems off.Would you use something like this? Seems crazy that one bad quote could cost you thousands of dollars.Just trying to see if it’s actually worth building lol.

Painting services need to be sold at around 60% gross profit. The average ticket is rather small.

Then you got some that will simply say, $3000 I’ll be finished Wednesday morning. Not trying to be funny,but you really have people out here like that. I’ve seen guys with no business skills and making big bucks 🤦♂️

I’ve been doing $50 per man hour(CAD) + $100 per gallon + 50% and I feel like it should still be more! I dunno if it’s CAD and canadian taxes, but I think I should be $75-$100 per man hour + $100 a gallon (20-60% markup includes miscellaneous materials) + 50% markup, but hard to sell this on the off season interiors. I will have to revisit the course!

it's more like "direct cost" add in profit percentage and overhead percentage against your yearly sales and add that percentage to the direct cost. same thing, just a different way of saying it ;)
